The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald. 2007, Penguin Books. |
The Great Gatsby is a beautiful novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The story takes place in 1922, during the Roaring Twenties, the post World War I prosperous time in the United States. The book received critical acclaim and is generally considered Fitzgerald's best work. It is also widely regarded as a "Great American Novel" and a literary classic, capturing the essence of an era.
The characters are each together, yet independent to the story and one by one they depict the growing plot throughout. There is no small character, which makes the novel extremely interesting and scenes are unexpected. For me, this is what shapes the things that come.
There have been many different versions of the Novel. The version that I am focusing on is the 2007 edition, which I am familiar with because I studied this as A Level. This is an advantage for me, but not the reason that I chose the novel. I always loved the characters, the story, the idea behind Fitzgerald's mind and so much more when it came to this novel. It would be a dream to be able to research this in a different way, and actually create one of the characters I love.
